Or: who is behind i like books and magic?

Hi, I’m Minna, and I’ve been reading since I learned the first letters. Books aren’t just a hobby for me: they’re more of a basic need, somewhere between air and a decent bedtime.

I paint castles in the sky. Sometimes literally, with a brush held up against the sky, as if I could dictate to the clouds what shape to take. But mostly in books: worlds that only exist because someone imagined them boldly enough.

I live in Germany, share my home with my husband and our dogs, who have considerably more personality than most people, and I spend my evenings best with an book, a cup of tea, and the quiet promise to read just one more chapter … and then one more. And sometimes one more.

I believe in magic. Not the grand, dramatic kind, though I’m absolutely on board for that too, but the quiet sort: the tingle when a story grabs you and won’t let go. The feeling of stepping into a world that didn’t exist before. The way certain sentences sound like incantations when you read them aloud.

On this blog you’ll find mostly fantasy and books with darkness and depth, with magic and abysses. I write the way I read: directly, honestly, and with genuine enthusiasm. If a book means something to me, you’ll notice. If it doesn’t, you’ll notice that too.
